That was the response I made to this article. Among other things, the article lamented that gay couples were still referred to as gay couples.
The thing is, I don't see too many gay couples who refer to themselves as couples. But there are many who refer to themselves as gay couples.
You can distinguish yourself with a label, but that doesn't work when you seek common ground. In fact, the label will get in the way.
