When truth is dissent

There was a silly piece at Gizmodo the other day.
By my count, three of the “8 Dumb Quotes” had nothing to do with science, despite the name of the article.
Of the three that dealt with “climate change,” the senator told the truth.
He joked about space threats.
And he said that Congress has the power to set agency budgets.
He gave an opinion on “net neutrality.”
He criticized Obamacare and tried to cut funding.
Exactly where are any of these things “dumb”?
They do challenge the established orthodoxy. They do question the dogma.
Why don’t certain modern liberals want to talk about these things?
