As I am getting the site mostly up and running, I've been thinking about what I want to do with it.
The headline feature has become more important. I'm planning on updating it often on weekdays. The front page has some, the blog pages have more, and the last two hundred show on the watching headlines page. I'll probably winnow it down once a month or so. It's already shown it's worth just be letting me quote headlines and links when I post comments on other sites.
And just like that, I figured that internal links should look different than other links. A quick bit of code and it's done.
The galleria page is mostly for me. After looking through all those depressing news and opinion articles, I need something to cheer me up.
I'll be making unscheduled original blog posts on the news and general liberty about two or three times a week. That's about all my sanity and schedule allow. If I can get quote boxes to do what I want, I'll be bringing back the American Classics category too.
There are a lot of features that you don't see. While the site layout and design is still done in RapidWeaver, the content is all done through a web browser. That means I can work anywhere there's a computer and I don't have to upload the site every time I have a blog entry. Each entry potentially has it's own gallery, but if there is only one image you wont see it in the main blog entry.
There's a box for extra content that you won't see, but I can add stuff to later without changing the original blog post.
It's easily fifty times better than what I was doing when I first started blogging and twenty times better than what I was doing with Rapid Weaver 6 before the catastrophic data crash. And once I finish the site tweaks, I won't have to upload all the time.
I still have two sites in development and two more blogs to resurrect. But I am getting there.
Now I just spotted another bit of code I need to change.
Hmm, maybe I'll make Fridays video days.
