I have a stalker. He follows me from site to site on Disqus and tells people that I am wrong.

What he wants is for me to spout HIS message on his cue. Before I blocked him on Disqus, he'd call me coward, liar, and then he'd try convincing me that we weren't so different. He was wrong and blind to the obvious. He saw government and control as THE solution. But he could never accept that control by “his guys” just set up future control by the Other guys. And he never accepted that once “his guys” got into power, they wouldn't stay “his guys.”

There are reasons I don't trust politics. A big part of that is because I don't trust political parties. Nor do I trust the self-appointed elites.

But more importantly, it's because of a pass-along I wrote a long time ago.

Why does your enlightenment require my sacrifice?

Because that is how it works. They never want my opinion, they never want my voice. They just want my unquestioned support for their message. For their agenda. For the Greater Good.

It seems my voice doesn't say what they accept. They want me to choose the lesser evil while never accepting that tolerating the lesser evil enables the greater evil.

Officially, the nomination system on the Democrat side has partially neutered the delegates since at least the introduction of superdelegates. Unofficially, it's gone back to "smoke-filled rooms" for some time now.

That's true to a certain extent on the Republican side of things too, they just don't have an "official" process out. The Trumpet threw that out the window.

I am not convinced that the sock-puppet was supposed to be anything except a sacrifice. I think the pandemic reaction was supposed to make things harder for the incumbent, but I don't think anyone on a national level expected the "numbers" that the Democrats got.

Anyway, the American voter has been playing two card monte for a long time, convinced that was just the way things were supposed to be. 2020 was a wake-up like this country never saw, and 2021 has been a living nightmare. Is it enough to make a positive change? I don't know. My best estimates still only give the Republic a 3 in 5 chance of surviving the next twenty years. Well, nineteen now.

No, the hearings won't start in January 2023. With a lot of luck, there is an outside chance they might commence before the end of 2023. Any longer than that and they will never happen. If the sock puppet resigns for "medical reasons" before December, we'll never even get that. The book will be closed, sealed, and locked away.

I'm still waiting for the charges against HRC. Or for that matter, the rest of Epstein's client list.

It will take a minimum of a decade to clean house enough so that charges might be brought against the people who should have been charged.

The chances of any of this actually appearing in a court room are very very remote.

Government is not your friend. Especially when it is covering up scandal.

I'm not convinced that enough people who care about justice are "in the system." We went through four years where "significant" technocrats ignored the law and direct presidential orders for their own agenda. If there is a President that supports that agenda, what makes you think a minority Senator (or even a majority Senate chairman) will be able to stop it?

That's what I mean about a decade. And I don't see anything yet that will let Republicans keep Congress and the Presidency that long.

Nor would I trust them if they did.

Obviously I don't trust "the system" to clean itself. I honestly think it would be better to let the whole thing collapse and pick up the pieces afterwards. Even then, it would take a while and multiple tries.

But that is not a truth people want to hear.
