Government mandates don't stop demand

Think about this.

The demand for gasoline is bigger than the supply, so the price goes up.

In San Francisco, the demand for water is higher than the supply, so there are mandatory water restrictions.

Witness the difference between private sector and public sector.

With one not so small difference.

Because of the free market, people can almost always get gas. It may not be at the price they want, but it is available.

Unless government decides to restrict that too.
