Hillary believes profits belong to Congress

This one has to be seen to be believed, so I am trying a YouTube feed

Before I tackle my global warming FAQ again, I want to draw special attention to this one.

"The other day the oil companies reported the highest profits in the history of the world. I want to take those profits and I want to put them into a strategic energy fund that will begin to fund alternative, smart energy, alternative and technology that will begin to actually move us toward the direction of independence."
Hillary Clinton, 2007 DNC Winter Meeting

Got that? According to Hillary, the profits of private corporations are under the direct control of the FedGovs.

Let's change the wording a bit, shall we?

*ahem*

The other day Congress reported the highest salaries in the history of the world. I want to put those Congressional salaries in a strategic fund controlled by the states to begin to fund smart, alternative and technology that will begin to move us toward the direction of independence.

How about this one.

The other day the Democratic National Convention reported the highest contributions in the history of the world. I want to put those contributions in a strategic fund to begin to fund smart, alternative and technology that will begin to move us toward the direction of independence.

Perhaps this will worry you more.

The other day citizens reported the highest salaries in the history of the world. I want to put those salaries in a strategic fund controlled by the Congress to begin to fund smart, alternative and technology that will begin to move us toward the direction of independence.

It's real easy to spend someone else's money. Oil companies have been demonized, so they are a target right now.

A private corporation should not answer to Congress, it answers to it's stockholders who put up the money to finance the company.

Profits are not a piggy bank that Congress can raid as it chooses. Most of those profits get reinvested. That is what makes economic expansion possible.

And by the way, the Federal taxes on a gallon of gasoline are much higher than the oil company profits on that same gallon. That doesn't even account for the income tax that the oil companies pay, or the state taxes on both the gas itself and the company profits.
