Unexpected consequences


Greed may make your computer less safe

Here is an implication of Micro$oft's Windows Vista that I hadn't considered.

The software companies that test for security problems and create defenses depend on emulation so it doesn't trash a system and it can be monitored step by step.

The Vista EULA specifically forbids emulation except on the high end (and more expensive) versions.

Does this mean that home users deserve less protection?
