Microsoft has your computer spying on you

And you might not even have known

I've said for years that the computer industry is a lot like the auto industry used to be, with Micro$oft cast in the role of Ford.

Well, M$ may have their Edsel in the works, and it's name is Vista.

The key component is "Windows Genuine Advantage." It reports to Micro$oft exactly what is installed on your computer and what you are using every day.

It also lets M$ deactivate Windows remotely if your copy is not validated. And this isn't a one time thing. Apparently your system will have to be validated every day.

Oh, by the way, if you are running any Windows system later than Windows 98 (no longer supported by Micro$oft), chances are it's already on your system and you didn't know.

I look for this to push sales of cheap computers with Linux. Not to mention Macintosh.
