Speaking of the Democrat agenda

The Democrats Greatest Flops coming soon to a campaign near you

Democrats want government control, not free markets.

America lags behind other countries that have universal broadband deployment, Pelosi said; but the Democrats' agenda "guarantees" that every American will have affordable access to broadband within five years.

"We also believe that the nationwide deployment of high speed, always-on broadband and Internet and mobile communications will fuel the development of millions of new jobs in the United States," Pelosi said.

Democrats support "energy independence" within ten years; health care for all American within five years; and "dignified retirement" (no privatization of Social Security) through an "AmeriSave" plan.

Let's see, American broadband deployment was delayed by Congress that required telecom companies to lease their "unused" capacity to their competition at below cost. The natural result was that companies cut back on the new fiber optic networks. So now we have a Congressional plan to fix the Congressional goof.

"Energy independence" has been a goal since the gas crunch of the 1970s, and every single time the government tries to interfere with the market, consumer prices go up.

If "AmeriSave" is mandatory and means that Congress decides who can get paid what, despite the money paid in, and also borrow against the money collected, it's just Social Security under another name with the same or greater problems.
