The port deal - Updated

Is it really National Security, or just a change to pose for the cameras?

I haven't had much extra time this week, but I am amazed about the fuss over this port deal.

Yes, some of the 9-11 terrorists came from Saudi Arabia. Some drunk drivers happen to be Hispanic, but I haven't heard any proposals to ban Hispanics from driving.

There is something that strikes me a little odd though. This is the first time that President Bush has threatened a veto. Of all the things, why this?

One other thing to keep in mind. Of all the ways to keep this sale from going through, why hasn't anyone organized the most obvious one?

A competing bid.

UPDATE: I goofed. As was pointed out in the comments, Saudi Arabia was not part of this deal. No excuse except I was in a rush to get a post up before I got busy. The sentence should read "Yes, the 9-11 terrorists came from the Middle East."
