Preliminary look at Samuel Alito

I'm more worried about the mainstream press fixation on abortion than Judge Alito.

With all that has been happening, I have barely had time to look up information on Samuel Alito. Basically I skimmed his opinions in two cases, the strip search of the 10 year old girl and the abortion case. Sorry, I don't have working links for either at the moment, they seem to have been swamped.

So far he seems acceptable. not great but not terrible.

One of the things that struck me as I was channel surfing through the Great Dance of the Talking Heads was a single word, repeated over and over and over.

Abortion.

The U.S. Supreme Court has two cases on it's docket that I think will have huge repercussions, the Oregon right to die law and a religious drug case. Both these cases could explode ciivil rights in the United States. Yet all the newscasters can talk about is abortion.

I've said it before, there are all sorts of rights. Be careful which you defend to the last because that might be the only one you have left.
