A matter of trust

Should you trust government to fix government corruption?

I've been thinking about this Tammy Bruce post since this morning.

I wish I could say she was wrong. But I have been thinking about people trusting in government.

Granted, New Orleans and Louisiana are extreme cases.

But think about it. If you vote for someone and they are elected, what are the chances you can personally call them up and have them handle your problem? The President and Congress have whole staffs to insulate them from dealing with voters on a day to day basis.

Unless of course, it makes them look good. Or might get them much more campaign money.

So how can you trust a government that has shown you can't trust it?

I am not sure you can.

If you know them, you can trust your neighbors. Maybe.

Maybe that is what it comes down to.
