Yes, I know it was supposed to be a joke. But can you imagine what would have happened if Rush Limbaugh had said something similar about John Kerry? Nobody has been indicted yet, but Mr. Franken is ready to pull the switch on the electric chair. Let's step back for just a minute. Valarie Plame Wilson had not been a "non-official cover operative" for some time, quite possibly long enough so that the Intelligence Identities Protection Act no longer applied. She was a desk employee in Virginia, and her friends and associates knew about her employment with the CIA. Joe Wilson's testimony has been so throughly discredited by the Senate investigating committee that his notoriety is about all that he has going for him. So what exactly was the crime? And if there is no crime, how can there be an indictment? I think Mr. Franken is lying because the ends justify the means. I've come to expect it from him. I believe that most liberals do not fall in that trap.
