People aren't so bad

Violence and lawlessness in New Orleans overstated. Does the media have a liberal bias

I've been waiting to get some confirmation on this. Well, today the LA TImes confirmed.

So let's look at this carefully.

Granted it was chaos and disaster. But when that many news organizations slant their facts and their reporting, not to mention overlooking the failings by local officials in the same disaster, you have to wonder if there is some sort of political objective.

I'm no fan of President Bush. But when the facts in the reporting do not hold up and there seem to be two standards of proof, one for liberals and one for everyone else, well, it's not difficult to draw the obvious conclusion.

I understand there were spoof "Billionaires for Bush" at the antiwar rally this last weekend. But no one on the left side of politics seems to want to talk about George Soros, who certainly seems to fit the "mastermind behind the scenes" role.

The New York Times is all over the no-bid contracts that Halliburton subsidiary KB&R got. But no one is talking about J.M. Bernhard Jr. of the Shaw Group, who just happens to be chairman of the Louisiana Democratic Party. Why does one get mention and the other does not?
