Some confusion

Apparently I have come off as racist

I made a comment about noticing minorities in the President's judiciary nominations.

My point was that if a "minority" female had been nominated by a Democratic President, it would be celebrated as a triumph of Civil Rights, as if the only way that (insert minority here) could really get ahead is by special privilege granted by a generous government.

And of course, anyone who is not a liberal need not apply.

But somehow if it is a Republican President makes the nomination, the nominee's sex and "race" doesn't get mentioned.

It reduces the entire Civil Rights movement to just another political tactic, to be used when convenient and otherwise ignored. It keeps minorities dependent.

More and more I see these double standards being used by the "liberal" leadership. Like Senator Joe Lieberman the other night on Hardball trying desperately to explain why he denounced judicial filibusters when Clinton was President but now considers them necessary to democracy.
