Global warming talks - Updated

The Democrat Shadow Government strikes again

Turns out that Representative Pelosi is attending talks on global warming.

A couple of points if I may.

First, the Kyoto Protocol was rejected by the Senate during the Clinton Administration, before Bush was elected to office. Most of the EU is going to miss it's Kyoto "targets."

Second, Pelosi is a member of Congress, she has no power to negotiate a treaty, even if she is Speaker of the House.

Third, it's the Senate who ratifies treaties, not the House of Representatives.

This looks more and more like another grandstanding move to undermine American foreign policy. The Democrats wouldn't stand for this if there were a Democrat President, and the Republicans shouldn't stand for it now.

They will though. The Republican leadership abandoned it's principles years ago.

UPDATE - *grumbles* That will teach me to blog when I am tired. The Senate gives advice and consent for the President's nominees, it ratifies treaties. Still the division of powers holds.
