Hillary Clinton playacting - updated

Positive spin on a big screwup

I covered the Hillary Clinton accent once before and I really wasn't going to say any more about it.

I mean, what else can you say? It's pandering and condescending and totally unlike ANY speech pattern she has previously used.

Fortunately, she said it for me.

"I think America is ready for a multilingual president," Clinton said during a campaign stop at a charter school in Greenville, S.C.

It's a dialect, not another language. Actually in her case it is an affected accent that doesn't even use the dialect well. Even more to the point, it doesn't have the roots that she attributes to it, but that is another story entirely.

That same AP article goes further and calls her a "linguistic polyglot." Polyglot means more than one language, there is no need for the word linguistic in the phrase.

Saint Hillary syndrome strikes again.

Rank and file Democrats deserve much better than this pretender.

UPDATE - Checking out Tammy Bruce's site, there is an article by Maynard that says almost the same things. I hadn't read it yet when I wrote this, I've been out of town and away from computers for a couple of days.

Maynard did write his first, but I thought the same thing when the article turned up.
