Congress wants to be above the law


Time to remind them that they most certainly are not!


Ordinarily I wouldn't be interested in a battle between the Executive and Congress, except to wish that both sides would tear the government to shreads.

Except in this case, there are a couple of key facts about William Jefferson that everyone seems to be overlooking.

First, this is the same Congressman who after Katrina used the Louisiana National Guard to rescue personal belongings.

Second, Jefferson had been under subpoena to produce the documents for eight (count them) months.

Third, the House leadership knew that the FBI was investigating.

Personally I find it funny that one arm of the government can be used to investigate government corruption, and the biggest response is "what corruption?"
