Teresa Chambers

Trying to look through the noise at why the United States Park Police Chief was fired

I know what this one looks like, the Bush Administration putting down an uppity troublemaker.

In my Corporate Clone days, one of my hats was in HR. This story is incomplete.

Did Teresa Chambers tell her superiors about the money problem first? Or did she just do an end run to Congress? This story would seem to show that she tried to work around the system. As does this one.

Before you can claim whistleblower status, you have to at least try to work through the existing system.

I'd also like to see her budget proposals to compare them to the actual appropriation, but that is probably going too far.

I don't know about government service, but in the corporate world, her actions would be grounds for dismissal. The issue isn't if the National Park system has adequate funds.

There is a support site for Teresa Chambers here.

Hat tip to Juliaki.
