Table stakes

What the game is really about

This is an email I sent to a list that I am a member of.

My point here wasn't to defend Bush or to attack Clinton.

I know it looked like that.

My point was that if you applied the same standards to Democrats that the Democrats these days are only too willing to apply to Republicans, the Democrats won't come off any better.

It doesn't matter if the Republicans or the Democrats control Congress.

It doesn't matter if the Democrats or the Republicans control the White House.

One machine, two faces.

The whole thing about "Bush lied" or "Clinton lied first" or any of the other arguments are just dualistic legerdemain. It is the forced choice. Pick a queen, any queen. Doesn't matter if you want to use another card, your choices have been limited by what is on the table. And pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

Whichever party wins, they will do everything they can to perpetuate the system that supports the status quo. No reform, or better yet just the show of reform. They need an opposition party, but they can't stand competition.

And the more we buy into statements like "We need government to protect us" or "We need government to insure fairness" or just "We need government," the more we are caught in the gears while the machine squeezes out every drop of blood and freedom.

Just something to think about.

BBB,

Neo

It's the same thing I tell everyone, but hardly anyone listens.
