Going after the VA over religion

"Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

Sergeant Patrick Stewart's widow, Roberta Stewart, is upping the stakes. She's suing the Veteran's Administration.

I had a talk with a friend about this, he couldn't understand what the fuss was.

I asked him if he would want a cross on his headstone (he served during the Gulf War).

"Oh," he said.

Maybe that is all it takes.

Since this started, I've talked to and read some Pagan vets. Some felt that they had been accommodated in faith matters during their service, some felt that they were discriminated against.

All felt, without exception, that it wasn't the VA's job to decide what is and is not an acceptable religion.
