One nation under God

What do the True Believers™ fear?

Desiree Cooper has it right.

If God does indeed favor our great land, I'd argue it's because men like Jefferson and Adams believed that citizens should put God at the head of their lives but not of their government. That's a line that's increasingly blurred as evangelical Christians gain more clout with the White House, focusing on issues like gay marriage, flag burning and the public display of the Ten Commandments over issues that I'd argue are higher on God's agenda: peace, environmentalism and charity for the poor.

I've written twice on this blog (here and here ) about this, and on I don't know how many lists and clubs.

It's really simple. If you have to depend on the force of law to back your faith, that tells me more about your doubts than it does about your faith.

The only faiths worthy of freedom are those freely chosen.

Let freedom ring.

Hat tip to Wren's Nest.
