Sudent information floating around internet, parents furious

School district and Google are arguing over whose fault it is

People are missing the point here.

The question is not if Google "grabbed" the wrong page.

Part of the question is why the school district provided the entire Social Security number on a web page in the first place.

But the real question, and the one that no one seems ready to answer, is why we need a central number scheme to keep track of our citizens?

Think about that when the politicos and bureaucrats try to roll out Real ID. And ask yourself if it's an accident that the various government agencies can't keep your information secure.
