"Intelligence czar can waive SEC rules"

Good enough for you, but not National Security

Two points about this one.

First, even assuming that the SEC was under direct supervision of the President and the Executive Branch (which it most definitely is not), this move would effectively put the SEC under another agency, violating the intent of the law that established the SEC and making the SEC a political animal.

Which it is, but for this entry we will pretend that it is not.

Second, this comes back to the uniform rule of law. If it is too much for a "National Security Contractor" to comply with the rule of law, then it is a good sign that the law itself is bad and should not apply to anyone.

In other words, exempt anyone from the law and EVERYONE should be exempted.

Hat tip Wendy McElroy.
