Government sanctioned religion

Get your government out of my faith

Cynthia Simpson lost her case before the Supreme Court.

Okay, let's start again. Or maybe here.

Matters of faith are a personal choice. Notice I made that red. That must mean I think it is pretty important.

Unless you already worshipped Krishna, chance are you would be terribly offended if I told you that you had to worship him. Just as I would be terribly offended if you told me I had to worship the God of Moses or Jesus Christ.

That is AS IT SHOULD BE.

Nobody has the right to tell you to worship, and it's certainly no one's business except yours and the Divine how you choose to worship.

Funny thing about mixing religion with your politics. Before long, people can't distinguish one from the other and dissent becomes heresy.

Even though I am a person of faith, I am deeply suspicious of any political body that tries to sanctify their actions through public acts of piety. Not because I disagree with religion, but because religion has too often become an excuse for tyranny. Especially when all competing religions are not allowed to be heard and some religions are raised above others. It doesn't matter which religion has the most followers. It doesn't matter which one is the most true.

The only thing that matters in faith is your individual relationship with Deity. Nothing more, nothing less, and nothing else.
